Nevada State Development Corporation plays an integral role in the financing of 76,000 square feet of new warehouse space in Northern Nevada
HELICOPTER PARTS INTERNATIONAL TO MAKE GRADUAL SHIFT FROM WASHINGTON TO NEW HOME IN MINDEN, NEVADA
Reno — Harry Niwranski, the owner of Helicopter Parts International, Inc., has built a track record of more than 42 total years of success in the helicopter supply industry.
Since its founding in the state of Washington in 1991, HPI has emerged as a leader in the field as a Honeywell-certified supplier of Bell and Sikorsky helicopter parts and components. Bell and Sikorsky are among the five top helicopter manufacturing companies globally, manufacturing helicopters that are used in both military and commercial applications. HPI obtains many of its parts by purchasing and dismantling used helicopters which are salvaged for parts which are then reconditioned for use in repair and upgrade applications.
Now, after a thorough search for a new site for business operations and after securing an SBA loan through Nevada State Development Corporation, HPI will be relocating from Washington to Minden in rural Douglas County, Nevada, to a facility encompassing 76,000 square feet of warehouse space, enough for the company’s current and future parts-warehousing needs.
“It is compelling to note that while manufacturing in the U.S. has declined overall, there has been a resurgence of highly technical specialized manufacturing that has remained here and in some cases grown,” Niwranski said. “Helicopter Parts International has benefited and thrived despite the offshoring of a large number of manufacturing jobs in many industries.”
Niwranski cited the primary reasons for the company’s move to Nevada from the state of Washington:
1) Northern Nevada is more centrally located to its customer base, providing reduced shipping costs for parts and improved delivery times.
2) The high desert of Northern Nevada is ideal for the storage and warehousing of helicopter parts due to the dryness of the area and favorable climate.
“HPI’s move to Nevada comes amidst a wave of new technology, engineering and sophisticated manufacturing that’s arriving in Northern Nevada,” said Roger Kadz, Vice President/Business Development Officer for Nevada State Development Corporation. “It’s exactly what the region and our state need. It is further evidence of just how valuable our region is as a strategic shipping hub with an advantageous tax structure.”
With an inventory of more than 13,000 parts and components, HPI’s parts exchange program and repair service is the most robust and cost-effective alternative to ordering new replacement parts from the manufacturers when repairs are required.
HPI is one of the larger helicopter parts suppliers on the West Coast, and is a member of Helicopter Association International. HPI is also registered with the Department of Defense and The Defense Trade Control.
HPI’s geographic area served includes all of the United States, Canada, Asia and Europe. Approximately 60 to 70 percent of HPI’s business is conducted with the U.S. and Canadian governments, and the remaining portion is with other government contractors.
