Nevada State Development Corporation (NSDC) partnered with Nevada State Bank to assist Aland Family Dentistry with an SBA 504 loan, allowing Dr. Troy Aland and his wife Lisa to move their business into a spacious new facility at 85 Continental Drive, Reno, Nev., 89509.
“We needed to expand our business and the SBA 504 loan seemed like the right fit for our project,” said Lisa. “We had one patient when we opened our doors in 2007, but we’ve grown so tremendously during the past several years that we no longer had space to see all of our patients.”
The original office was 1,200 square feet; the new office, which opened in April less than a block away from the original space, is triple the size at 3,600 square feet. Aland Family Dentistry employs five full-time workers and four part-time employees.
“In our original space, our employees were literally bumping into one another,” said Lisa. “Our team morale has improved immensely in our new office. We have the room to function more efficiently. Most importantly, the added space has allowed us to make better use of our schedule and time—we’re able to see more patients now and provide them with better service and care.”
Lisa also credits NSDC for guiding the business through the loan process.
“With NSDC to help us, the process moved smoothly,” said Lisa. “It was a great learning experience, and we realized quickly that communication is the key to closing the loan efficiently.”
